Criteria for Admission

To be accepted to the Inquiry stage in the diocese’s Permanent Deacon program, you must:

• Be between the ages of 32 and 63.
• Be a Roman Catholic in good standing for at least five years.
• If married, be in a stable marriage for at least five years.
• Demonstrate maturity, stability, and overall psychological and physical health.
• Hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and have been a resident of the Diocese of Charlotte for at least five years.
