The Diocesan Pastoral Center will be closed in observance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery. This holiday’s name is a combination of the words “June” and “nineteenth,” as it is celebrated on the anniversary of June 19, 1865 – when the Civil War was ending and the U.S. military ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas.
