2024 Life & Family Conference:
“Cultural Challenges & Catholic Faith”

The Life & Family Conference is a day of formation and education focused on marriage, family and pro-life work. Attendees will experience dynamic, nationally known speakers and panel discussions about fostering hope and love in family life, strengthening marriages, and other life-affirming topics.

What to expect

The 2024 conference is set for Saturday, Sept. 28 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, and the theme is “Cultural Challenges & Catholic Faith.” Mass will be offered. Enjoy uplifting talks from Father Jeff Kirby, STD; Christine Wisdom, MS, LMHC; and Adamo Manfra, Major USMCR, S.T.B. Lunch and refreshments are included. Tickets are $30 adult, $20 student. Advance online registration is preferred. Parking at St. Matthew is free.

Childcare is offered during the conference after Mass from 9:30-3:00 for children ages 2-12 at $5 per child for the day. Please pack your child’s lunch/snacks/water and feel free to send along their favorite toys or books. 

2024 Speakers

“The Way of the Lord: Speaking Moral Truth with Love” with Father Jeff Kirby, STD

Father Jeffrey Kirby, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Indian Land, South Carolina, is a moral theologian with a doctorate from the Holy Cross University in Rome. Father Kirby is a Papal Missionary of Mercy and the author of several books, including Sanctify Them in Truth: How the Church’s Social Doctrine Addresses the Issues of Our Time, Kingdom of Happiness: Living the Beatitudes in Everyday Life, and Understanding the Bible: A Catholic Guide to Applying God’s Word to Your Life Today.

"From Suffering to Healing in Family Life" with Christine Wisdom, MS, LMHC

Christine Wisdom, is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and owner of Wisdom Integrative Counseling in Davidson, North Carolina. Wisdom and her team of Catholic counselors are dedicated to helping people heal in mind, body and spirit. She has been working with individuals and married couples for more than 15 years – providing therapy, workshops, talks and retreats. Wisdom also is the co-founder of “On the Road” marriage ministry. She and her husband Bryan have been married for 13 years and have four children.

"Faith in the Public Square: Catholic Engagement in Politics and Policy" with Adamo Manfra, Major USMCR, S.T.B.

Adamo Manfra is the director of research and education at the North Carolina Family Policy Council. After graduating from the University of Texas and then serving more than six years of active-duty service in the U.S. Marine Corps, he pursued graduate theological studies in Washington, D.C. Manfra uses his intellectual formation and passion for applying a biblical worldview to society in the public square. He and his wife live in Youngsville, where they spend most of their time corralling their three small children.
