E-Verify
The Diocese of Charlotte participates in E-Verify, the government’s web-based electronic eligibility verification program offered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), along with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify enables employers to compare employee information taken from the Form I-9 against records kept in DHS and SSA databases.
Effective October 1, 2012, each new diocesan employee must be processed through E-Verify within three days of hire.
Employee Performance Appraisals
Employee Performance Appraisals provide for the periodic exchange of information about accomplishments and problems on the job. On an annual basis, employees must be given formal appraisals and the documentation placed in the employee’s official personnel file.
Workers’ Compensation
Workers’ Compensation insurance is provided for all diocesan employees. All work-related injuries or illnesses must be reported to the Human Resources Office on the North Carolina Industrial Commission Form 19.
