Lay Ministry Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Come experience the Holy Land

Discover the land where Jesus walked and visit the holy sites of our faith by joining the Lay Ministry Study Pilgrimage of the Holy Land on April 12-22.

One of the things that will set this experience apart from other pilgrimages is that, in addition to visiting and praying at the holy sites, we will have an opportunity to directly interact with the Christians in the Holy Land. We will have an opportunity to experience the candle light procession and prayer vigil on Saturday evening in Nazareth as well participate in the Sunday community Mass (at the Basilica of the Annunciation). In addition, we will break out into smaller groups and share dinner with Christian families at their home one evening while in Bethlehem. In addition, there will be special material to help participants prepare for the pilgrimage by reflecting on scripture passages.

The brochure contains detailed information including the itinerary, payment information, as well as the registration form. Most expenses are covered in the price of the trip. The $3395 price includes airfare from Charlotte, all hotels, entrance to all the sites, all breakfasts, dinners and 6 lunches, as well as all gratuities (including guide and driver). The diocese requires that all participants obtain travel insurance (for their protection). This is not included in the price because the cost varies depending on the plan you choose; while the tour company offers two options (see registration form in the brochure), you are free to shop around and purchase the insurance through a different company.
