Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry in the Diocese of Charlotte serves college students throughout western North Carolina through quality experiences of their faith journey. The guiding principles for Catholic Campus Ministry were spelled out in the USCCB document, Empowered by the Spirit (1985). That document listed seven aspects of campus ministry which are the guiding principles of Catholic Campus Ministry in the Diocese of Charlotte:

  3. Forming the Christian Conscience
  4. Educating for Justice and Peace
  5. Facilitating Personal Development
  6. Developing Leaders for the Future
  7. Fostering Vocations

Mission Statement

The Education Vicariate of the Diocese of Charlotte is delegated by the Bishop to assist in the implementation of the pastoral and educational mission of the diocese through Campus Ministry.

Empowered by our Bishop, Catholic Campus Ministry is the embodiment of the church on campuses of higher education in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte. Imbued by the Tradition of Church Teaching, Catholic Campus Ministry forms and nurtures authentic Catholic Community rooted in the Gospel and Sacraments. Dedicated to the mission of Jesus Christ, Catholic Campus Ministry evangelizes through personal and communal experiences for the formation of lifelong disciples.
