CHRIST THE KING AND ARCHBISHOP SHEEN

highpoint_christking_exterior_nd_websmallOn December 14th 1941, Christ the King Church in High Point was dedicated by Bishop Eugene McGuinness. One of the individuals who contributed to the construction of the church was Msgr. (later Archbishop) Fulton J. Sheen, who would eventually become famous due to the popularity of his weekly TV show, Life is Worth Living. Archbishop Sheen, who died in 1979, was recently proclaimed Venerable and his cause for canonization is currently being investigated.
