Will/Trust Planning Seminars PDF Print E-mail

Will/Trust Planning Seminars are one of the many services offered by the Office Planned Giving. These

estate-seminar-webseminars can be conducted at parishes, schools or agencies. The Office of Planned Giving offers these seminars to help parishioners practice stewardship of their assets. Estate Planning attorneys volunteer their time and services to lead these free seminars that incude a question and answer period after the presentation.

Statistics indicate that these types of seminars are greatly needed. In the United States over 70% of those who die each year do not have a will. Of those who do have wills, many of these wills are invalid or out of date.

Estate Planning Seminar attendees learn the basics of good estate planning. Topics of discussion include:

  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Health Care and General Powers of Attorney
  • Probate
  • When to update your Will
All attendees will receive helpful brochures and information. During and after the seminar, the estate-planning attorney and diocesan staff will answer individual questions. These seminars have been very well received by attendees, who learn that having a valid Will is a way to practice good stewardship of one's treasures.
