Some Great Happenings at Our Schools

Bishop McGuinness Boys and Girls Basketball Teams - 2008-2009 NCHSAA 1-A State Champions!

The Lady Villains Team Took their fourth straight Championship by defeating East Bladen 64-33.  This brought their record to 29-4 for the season!  Congratualtions Lady Villians!

The boys team won the school's first NCHSAA state championship by defeating the Weldon Chargers 74-56.  The Villians held a 35-34 lead at the half but held Weldon to no field goals for the first 10:40 of the second half to pull away and bring home the title.  This resulted in a season with the most wins in Bishop McGuinness' history with a final record of 31-2.  Congratualtions Villians!

24 MACS Band Students Named to Southcentral District Band

Twenty-four students from the MACS Bands were successful in attaining membership by audition in the Southcentral District Band to be held at Mooresville High School later this month.  When one considers the number of students auditioning from a six county area this is a tremendous accomplishment.  13 of the students came from the CCHS Band, 10 from the Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School and 1 from St. Mark Catholic School.  Congratulations to all of these talented students.
